Challenges

Implement the new warehouse management process backed by cloud technology to support and streamline the rapidly expanding business. Features of the required solution:

1) Initial implementation in the central warehouse with broker in the United States, and rapid execution of roll outs to four additional warehouses in other regions of the country.

2) Ensure change management for the adoption of best practices in location management, as well as the use of handheld and voice picking technology to increase inventory accuracy and reduce location and picking times.

3) Automatic and integrated management of 3 zones according to storage type: Dry, Refrigerated and Frozen.

4) Agile storage location allocation system considering picking and reserve zones.

5) Generation of replenishment tasks for picking and restocking areas from alternate warehouses.

6) Handling of assortment waves ensuring batch management based on FEFO and FIFO criteria.
7) Easy integration of technology for the use of Hand Helds and Voice Picking devices.

Solutions

The Warehouse solution is implemented in the central warehouse with a customized design based on the new TO BE process established. Emphasis on early testing with key users and end users to facilitate the adoption of the new paradigm and system. Physical preparation of the warehouse is performed and confirmed (ensure WiFi coverage, correct labeling of locations and existing product).

Implemented online interfaces with Oracle EBS ERP and Voice Picking service for put away, replenishment and picking processes.

Customized reports are developed in OTBI for special controls and measurements required by the business.

Labels are developed for inbound and outbound processes, as well as item and location labels for the correct identification of each process.

The operational start-up date is met based on the established timelines.

Roll outs are initiated to the rest of the warehouses.
