Challenges
Implement an end-to-end solution to plan, execute, and control transportation across both primary and secondary logistics networks, including last-mile delivery. The system needed to operate 24/6 and include a mobile app for delivery and payment tracking.
Implemented Solution
• Customized design using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) with dynamic routing for the primary network and fixed routes for the secondary network.
• Integration with the ERP (Oracle EBS) via Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for order intake and payment control.
• Integration of OTM with a GPS provider for real-time route monitoring.
• Development of a route settlement solution using Oracle APEX, focused on last-mile operations, including:
– A security guard app to manage vehicle entry and exit.
– A driver app to record deliveries, payments, incidents, and work in offline mode with later synchronization.
Progress
The main Distribution Center in Mexico City (CDMX) is already operational. Deployment to the remaining DCs is planned soon.
