Challenges
Improve the planning of primary distribution of finished product nationwide and achieve greater automation of tasks. Characteristics of the required solution:
1) Develop and implement an improved process to determine target product inventories at DC and the mechanism for requesting from plants.
2) Make changes to the current demand planning solution to determine daily requirements based on the current monthly demand plan. Demand behavior patterns per day of the week for each DC must be recognized.
3) Installation of the ASCP tool on a separate server but connected to the Oracle EBS ERP.
4) Implementation of the daily distribution plan using standard criteria for poverty distribution in the event of shortages.
Solutions
An assessment of the current product request calculation process at DC is carried out. A new process based on APICS best practices is established. New inventory policies are calculated and established. A quick solution is developed in Excel to initiate the adoption of the new paradigm when the Oracle module becomes productive. We provide support to ensure the proper use of the solution and the understanding of the new process.
ASCP is reinstalled in a separate server to ensure adequate response time for the daily planning process.
The DRP (Distribution Resource Planning) module is implemented for the daily distribution plan.
Some non-standard interfaces are made with Oracle EBS ERP for special cases where required by the business. Agreements are made with several areas to take the picture of the status of each information component in a correct way.
