Challenges

Implement a cloud-based warehouse management solution to support rapid business expansion and ensure operational efficiency.:

1) Phase 1: Initial implementation at the central warehouse in the U.S., with a tailored design and roll-out plans for four additional warehouses in Mexico.

2) Phase 2: Roll-out at another warehouse, adapting processes from the initial implementation.

Key requirements included:

– Change management to promote operational best practices, including Hand Held and voice picking technology to improve inventory accuracy and reduce operational times.

– Management of dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage zones.

– Agile location assignment system for picking and reserve zones.
– Automated task generation for replenishing picking areas from alternate warehouses.
– Wave picking processes with FEFO and FIFO criteria.
– Simple technology integration for automated processes.

Solutions

Implemented Oracle Warehouse Management Cloud, designed around the established “TO BE” process.

Phase 1 (Central warehouse):

  • Custom reports in OTBI for specific business controls.
  • Designed custom labels for inbound, outbound, item, and location processes.

Phase 2 (Roll-out)::

  • On-time go-live execution

Both phases standardized warehouse operations, ensured greater inventory accuracy, and optimized picking and replenishment times across the network
